Head of Business Development

Head of Business Development opportunity for a high growth and market leading FinTech company providing data solutions to help investment managers make better and quicker decisions and to optimise their portfolios. 

Our client has deep domain expertise in ESG, Data Science and Cloud data infrastructure ML AI technologies. They have a market leading ESG disclosures research SaaS solution, and they provide bespoke ESG scoring solutions to investment management and fund management customers. They have ambitious growth plans and are an AIM listed company. They are looking for a forward-thinking Business Development leader to spearhead the sales strategy and execution to realise the business’s growth ambitions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Engaging with investment management customers to generate sales pipeline and manage opportunities through to close
  • Achieve and exceed revenue targets 
  • Manage long-term relationships with customers to ensure consistent and long-term business
  • Work closely with marketing to reach targeted investment management customers, to raise awareness and consideration of our market leading ESG solution offerings.
  • Provide guidance to ensure our marketing campaigns result in substantial lead generation
  • Capture customer feedback to shape ESG propositions so that they are the most compelling in the investment management market
  • Strategic thinker, with a mind for identifying new markets and potential revenue streams
  • Build the sales team in line with the company’s growth
  • Set KPIs and targets for the sales team and maintain consistent performance
  • Build an end-to-end sales process that is scalable, utilising CRM, digital marketing, and other sales tools
Skills and Experience
  • 3+ years of experience selling FinTech solutions to investment management customers 
  • Experience working with an ESG related product previously beneficial
  • Ability to grow business with committed customers over time and to make them advocates for our solutions 
  • Proven track record of sizeable solution selling and management of the full sales cycle
  • Experience of hiring, growing and leading a successful sales team. Experience of scaling a SaaS team previously highly beneficial 
  • Ability to create compelling customer proposals and to make engaging customer presentations
  • Degree educated
  • Dynamic individual with the ambition and drive to succeed. Must be a self-starter with the ability to make things happen quickly and to shape the future of our business
